Taveirne is one of the most experienced players in Belgium in the field of railway construction.

Each location and railway installation has specific technical requirements. Thanks to their years of experience, our engineers and professional installers find solutions to even the most challenging track problems.

Laying new tracks involves much more than just assembling the rails. Taveirne also takes care of additional works such as:

  • Ballast rehabilitation

  • Cable works in the track environment

  • Construction of platforms and platform furniture

  • Foundations for signal or overhead line poles

  • Drainage and sewer systems in existing or new track beds

  • Installation of level crossings using precast concrete or rubber profiles

  • Thermite welding of various types of rails

And all of this in accordance with the applicable standards and safety regulations.

Realisations

Taveirne was an important partner in the construction of the new stations at:

  • Ghent-Sint-Pieters

  • Leuven

  • Zaventem

  • Namur

  • Antwerp Central

  • Ostend

and also in the construction of the high-speed train (TGV) lines between Brussels and the German and French borders.

Maximum performance

To ensure optimal performance of railway tracks, regular and properly executed maintenance is essential. Taveirne carries out maintenance work for Infrabel as well as for clients such as Arcelor Mittal, Cobelfret, Casier, and 2XL, among others.

Recent projects

Master Plan Dendermonde – Installation of Railway Switches

During the weekends of 13–14 and 20–21 June, Taveirne installed four new railway switches as part of phase 1.1 of the Dendermonde Master Plan.

Construction of 3rd and 4th tracks between Bellem and Oostkamp

Two additional tracks are being laid on Belgium’s busiest railway line (L50), between Ghent and Bruges.SNCB is already integrating the new tracks into the June timetable, which will lead to smoother and more punctual train connections.

Renewal of switches – Lot (Beersel)

In Lot, borough of Beersel, 2 switches were renewed last weekend. Our PEM LEM lorries were used to carry out this work.
