Construction of 3rd and 4th tracks between Bellem and Oostkamp

Two additional tracks are being laid on Belgium’s busiest railway line (L50), between Ghent and Bruges.SNCB is already integrating the new tracks into the June timetable, which will lead to smoother and more punctual train connections.

By the end of 2027, the works between Bellem and Landegem will be completed, with 76 kilometres of new tracks between Ghent and Bruges. After that, Infrabel will also tackle the two existing tracks, with the ultimate deadline at the end of 2029: four tracks along the entire length of the railway line.

Taveirne, a key partner in this project, will handle the phased implementation, with the aim of reducing travel time between the two cities by the end of 2029.
