Reconstruction of the Tram Infrastructure at Sainctelette Square, Brussels
The redevelopment of Sainctelette Square is part of a large-scale urban renewal project aimed at redesigning the public space for pedestrians, cyclists, public transport and road traffic.
As part of this project, Taveirne was responsible for the complete renewal and relocation of the tram tracks in line with the new traffic layout. Depending on the location, different track systems were applied. In addition to conventional tracks at street level, embedded concrete track systems were installed on the bridges.
Planning and coordination between the various contractors were crucial to the success of this project. STIB/MIVB relied on Taveirne’s full commitment to ensure that these simultaneous works were carried out efficiently and completed under optimal conditions.
