In mid-September 2024, Taveirne began renewing the northern track. The construction site, measuring 1,200 metres in length, is located along the Koninklijke Baan in Bredene. The section runs from the ‘Campings’ stop, coming from the direction of De Haan, to the intersection with Zeelaan heading towards Ostend.

Starting in January 2025, the southern track will also be renewed, with the goal of completing all works by summer 2025.

This project is a first for Belgium: it marks the very first time a tram line is being constructed using the innovative ladder track system.
