Each year, on behalf of De Lijn, Taveirne carries out maintenance works on sections of the coastal tram network. Currently, work is underway between Nieuwpoort City and the centre of Oostduinkerke.

During this maintenance period, level crossings and pedestrian paths are removed to allow the tracks to be accessed for repair and cleaning. These operations are carried out in close coordination with De Lijn, the tram operations department, and the local authorities.

At night, outside of tram operating hours, the tracks are tamped using a specialised machine that lifts, aligns, and levels the rails to ensure a smooth and comfortable ride. Afterwards, the level crossings are quickly reinstalled and the tracks are thoroughly cleaned.

Thanks to this phased approach, the entire coastal tram route is fully maintained over a five-year period.
