Eight heavy switches are being completely renewed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The old wooden sleepers are being replaced by durable concrete ones. \u201cThis is a very important project,\u201d emphasizes Thomas Baeken of Infrabel. \u201cThis railway line is the gateway to the high-speed line towards France and England. It is heavily used by both international high-speed trains and domestic passenger traffic. The works will improve both safety and punctuality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The construction zone extends over 600 meters.
